Chief Mike Riley

Mike Riley moved into New Baden in 1957 and has enjoyed the community very much. He graduated from Wesclin High School in 1970 and later graduated from Belleville Area College. He subsequently earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. The Village of New Baden appointed Chief Riley a patrolman in 1976 and he was promoted to Chief of Police in 1979.  In 1990, he graduated from the 162nd Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Chief Riley enjoys spending time with his wife Karen and his children; Jami, Mike and Rick. Chief Riley also enjoys attending church, motorcycle riding and playing tennis.

Sergeant Scott Meinhardt

Scott Meinhardt is a life-long resident of New Baden, where he now lives with his wife and family. Sgt. Meinhardt graduated from Wesclin High School in 1986. He then graduated from Belleville Area College with an Associate of Arts Degree and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 1989. Scott's law enforcement career started when he joined the Clinton County Sheriff's Department in 1988 as a part-time deputy. Scott was later appointed to the New Baden Police Department in 1989 as a part-time patrolman. In 1990, he was appointed to a full-time position with the Department. In 1997 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and continues to serve New Baden in that capacity. His interests are motorcycle riding and motor sport racing.

   

Officer Jeff Mavrogeorge

Jeff Mavrogeorge has been with the New Baden Police Department since 2004.  He is the Police Department's D.A.R.E. Officer.  He graduated from Wesclin High School in 1993, then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served 4 years.  He enjoys spending time with his family on his days off.  He is also involved with the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics.  One of his hobbies is collecting other Police Department patches.

   

Officer Angela Wagner

Angela Wagner started her career in law enforcement in 1990 as a dispatcher for the Fairview Heights Police Department.  She graduated from Southwestern Illinois College in 1992 with an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice.  Angela successfully completed session #53 of the Southwestern Police Academy.  In 1993 she was hired by the Cahokia Police Department where she became the departments first female police officer.  Officer Wagner was hired by the New Baden Police Department in 2004.  She is also a volunteer firefighter with the New Baden Fire Department.  She enjoys scuba diving, motorcycle riding, and horseback riding.

   
 

 

Officer Bruce Rapien

Bruce Rapien began his law enforcement career in 2006 with the New Baden Police Department.  He worked for 14 years for the Ford Motor Company prior to joining the department.  The closing of the Hazelwood Ford Plant has given him the opportunity to pursue a life-long interest in a career in law enforcement.  Officer Rapien attended session #99 of the Police Academy at Southwestern Illinois College.  He is also a volunteer firefighter with the New Baden Fire Department.  Bruce resides in New Baden with his wife and two children.  One of his favorite pastimes is bow hunting.
